SXSW, the popular annual event that features film, music, media, and tech conferences and festivals, has announced its latest round of featured speakers for this year which includes Apple’s own Eddy Cue. While Apple has played its original content efforts close to the chest so far, Cue might shed more light on what we can expect from Apple in this area.
Announced in a post on SXSW’s website, Eddy Cue will be joining Recode’s Kara Swisher, director Spike Lee, and YouTube’s CEO Susan Wojcicki among others lined up to speak. Here’s how SXSW described its speaker lineup:
Also speaking at SXSW will be Apple’s accessibility lead, Sarah Herrlinger. She will be speaking on a panel that will cover “why accessibility in tech is important and why more must be done.”
While Apple Music will no doubt be a part of Cue’s talk, it looks likely that he’ll share more about Apple’s original content efforts as it’s the festivals 25th anniversary of “Interactive and Film.” The notes about his talk suggest the same.
The category (or track) that SXSW has Cue’s talk under is “Startup & Tech” and he’ll will be chatting with CNN’s Dylan Byers.
Last year, Apple Music’s creative director Zane Lowe gave a keynote at the festival. SXSW 2018 will run from March 9-18 in Austin, Texas.
