Eve Online is rolling out a new update that will give players access to a frigate escape bay on battleships, enabling them to either flee combat or quickly rejoin the fight. EVE Online has been around for more than 15 years at this point and has added several impressive updates as well as expanding the EVE universe into other genres.

EVE Online has remained massively popular over it’s long run, and now has over 500,000 users. Most of EVE Online’s gameplay is based around flying starships around the universe and fighting other players from within these massive ships. Over the years EVE has received several big changes like 2018’s Into The Abyss. This update added a brand new explorable area that forced players to confront environmental hazards and strange new enemies. Players also had access to new weapons, ships, and upgrade materials.

EVE Online will be releasing the new Frigate Escape Bay update in late March. The new bay will be added to battleships automatically, and will allow players to store one frigate specifically for when their battleship is destroyed. Once the ship is destroyed, instead of helplessly being launched inside the escape capsule, players will be inside the frigate instead. The upside to this is that players will immediately be able to rejoin combat or even quickly flee any ships that are attempting to finish them off.

EVE Online has been struggling to keep new players, as the title is notoriously difficult for newcomers to grasp. The combat, upgrading, and traversal systems are incredibly complicated, but on top of that the game world is almost entirely run by the players. Players control the economy and political scope of EVE’s world as well as start and end wars. A lot of new players find it incredibly daunting to try and make sense of the rapidly changing world around them.

EVE Online is one of the most unique and rewarding experiences in gaming at this time. There are very few game worlds out there that are almost entirely managed by players, and even fewer allow players to make real world money. New updates almost always make EVE Online a more rewarding and entertaining experience, and it seems the Frigate Escape Bay will be no different. This update will allow players to play more strategically and decide whether escaping or fighting makes more sense. EVE Online fans will have to check it out in March.
