The world of romance is an unpredictable one. It can also be rather fleeting, with many relationships coming and going quicker than anyone anticipated. This is even more true with celebrities, particularly the cast members of the Arrowverse. While there are numerous examples of happily-married, many are in and out of relationships, or prefer keeping their personal lives out of the limelight.
Whether you strictly watch the Arrowverse shows or keep up-to-date with all the happenings of the cast members, it’s easy to become interested in what the stars do off-set. After all, you become quite attached with the characters in each respective show, so you then end up feeling the need to find out more. With this list, we’re going to be looking at the main cast members of each Arrowverse show and break down how their love lives are currently playing out. In order of oldest show to newest, we’ll work our way through each major cast member and see what they’re up to.
As you’ll see, most of these stars have their own preferences when it comes to how in-the-public eye their personal lives are. Some prefer to keep any romance to themselves, whereas others proudly show off their partners to press and the rest of the public. Here’s a look at Every Arrowverse Star: Who Are They Dating?
26. Stephen Amell: Married to Cassandra Jean
If any reader follows Stephen Amell on any social media outlets, you’re well aware of his current wife Cassandra Jean. The pair got married in 2012 on Christmas day where they held a private ceremony in Caribbean. They later held another ceremony in New Orleans a year later, followed by the birth of their daughter, Mavi.
Amell’s marriage to Jean was not his first, he was previously married to Carolyn Lawrence for 3 years.
Although it didn’t work out the first time, it seems that married life suits Amell. He has a loving wife, a pretty hilarious daughter who seems to have inherited some of her father’s sense of humor and a ongoing lead role in CW’s flagship superhero series. A couple of appearances in the WWE ring and a round of a celebrity-themed America Ninja Warrior has to be the cherry on top of the whole experience. Considering Mr. Amell’s philanthropic work and consistently-pleasant demeanor, it couldn’t have happened to a nicer guy. With the news that Amell’s going to adopt the famous Green Arrow goatee for next season, here’s hoping Jean likes the look.
25. Emily Bett Rickards: Single
Although Felicity’s relationship with Oliver is one that is a point of contention among many fans, actress Emily Bett Rickards’ dating history in real life is a bit more of an unknown commodity. She largely keeps her social life private, although every so often, there are some blips. To be specific, there have been two heavily-rumored relationships that Rickards has been connected to.
She was rumored to have been involved with co-star Colton Haynes (Roy from Arrow) back in 2013, whom she apparently dated for over a year. They met on the set of the show and although their alleged relationship ended, their friendship remains strong, if Rickards’ Instagram is anything to go by. The other rumored-coupling was Rickards’ quick relationship with Lucy Pinder, which supposedly followed the Haynes relationship. It was strictly rumored and never fully confirmed by either person, but something seemed to be there, at least in the eyes of certain tabloids.
Beyond that, Rickards is believed to have been single since June 2017. While that may be surprising for some, she’ll undoubtedly find someone special sooner rather than later, and the media likely will have no idea it happened, if her past level of secret-keeping is to be expected.
24. Katie Cassidy: Engaged to Matthew Rodgers
Katie Cassidy, the daughter of the late actor David Cassidy, established herself among many comic fans through her role as Laurel in Arrow and The Flash. When she’s not busy taking down baddies or heroes in her role as Black Canary (Black Siren), Cassidy consistently posts some screenshots of her and her fiancé, Matthew Rodgers. Rodgers is likely known best for his college football days as the starting QB for the University of Iowa from 1988-1991. He went on to do some work in the art department for all three Hobbit movies and District 9.
Prior to Rodgers, Cassidy had dated infamous producer Dana Brunetti in December 2014 to 2016, known best for his producing House of Cards, The Social Network, and Fifty Shades of Grey. Prior to then, her dating record consists of many varieties of people, including ice hockey player Jason Garrison, Jerry Ferrara, popular for his role on Entourage. She was even linked to popular singer Jesse McCartney back in 2004. Her dating history is certainly varied, but all of it seemed to help guide her to Rodgers, who seems to be the guy for her.
Eventually, once the wedding day comes between the two, you’ve got to wonder if Cassidy will whip out that wedding dress from Episode 100 of Arrow. It’s not very likely, but if there’s anything to spice up a wedding ceremony, it’s an obscure Easter egg from a comic book television show.
23. Willa Holland: In Relationship with Nate Walton
Back to someone who keeps the romantic side of life more private, Willa Holland (Thea Queen/Speedy/Green Arrow’s red-leathered sidekick) has been an active Hollywood actress since 2001. Whether it was a recurring role on O.C or her voice work for Kingdom Hearts, she’s maintained a steady amount of work. Because of this consistent workload, she rarely strays away from the spotlight too much. Her love life, however, is something that she remains far more in-control of, especially in the sense of how much the media knows about it.
It’s nice to keep somethings to yourself when you live in the spotlight.
Fairly recently, Holland went public with her boyfriend, Nate Walton. Walton is a photographer and has seemingly had a connection with Holland since around 2015. The two have been seen in public together several times, but it seems it’s on her Instagram where their relationship is most evident. When he’s not posting some of his personal work with other models, Holland frequently appears throughout his posts, with Walton appearing often on Holland’s personal account.
Prior to Walton, it’s believed Holland was involved with English actor Toby Hemingway, with the pair being together for approximately a year back in 2009. Holland will certainly be missed by Arrow fans after her departure from the show, but maybe it will allow her some more time with the boyfriend.
22. David Ramsey: Married to Briana Ramsey
David Ramsey’s Diggle is the perfect representation of the wise, stable supporting character. He’s always got plenty of wisdom to dish out to other members of Team Arrow, while taking care of his wife and child. Ramsey pulls off the role with gusto, suiting him perfectly. What could be his secret to nailing this role? Turns out, when you realize that the character of John Diggle was created strictly for Arrow and that Ramsey is a Tae Kwon Do expert in a multi-year marriage, then it’s more apparent that Diggle may actually just be Ramsey playing himself all these years.
Ramsey is currently married to his long-time wife Briana Ramsey. The two had evidently been together for several years prior to their marriage, but eventually tied the knot in a non-grandiose fashion. The Ramsey pair don’t find themselves making many headlines, something the two probably planned in-advance. With celebrity romances, particularly marriages, less news headlines equate to more needed peace and quiet. They stay away from controversies, allowing them to simply enjoy being together. As long as the two continue to be on the same page, this likely won’t change anytime soon. If David Ramsey is as much like Diggle as he appears to be, that’s exactly how he likes it.
21. Colton Haynes: Currently Separated
While the return of Roy is great news for Team Arrow and Colton Haynes, the actor isn’t having as good a time off-set. Although he married his current husband, Jeff Leatham, fairly recently, separation is imminent. Earlier this month, Haynes sent Leatham divorce papers, with him citing “irreconcilable differences” as the reason behind the decision. Before he sent the papers, Haynes removed the “husband” part of his social media bios, as well as his hyphenated last name (Haynes-Leatham), leading many to speculate what ended up being confirmed later on.
The pair met by chance at a Paris airport and immediately fell for one another, according to Haynes. Leatham, well-known floral expert and specialist of writing books about flowers, soon proposed to Haynes following their chance meeting and held an extremely lavish wedding in Las Vegas (likely grandiose enough to make David Ramsey blush). While it was a wonderful-sounding evening between the two men and involved many proclamations of eternal love, it seemed they weren’t meant for each other. Hopefully both men find their own peace with the situation and can successfully search for happiness somewhere else. Most importantly, here’s hoping that the separation period doesn’t alienate them from each other, as they clearly care about one another. After all, losing a husband is terrible on its own, but losing any form of relationship to someone special is far worse.
20. Grant Gustin: Engaged to LA Thoma
Barry Allen may have had some ups and downs romantically throughout the series, always pursuing the love of his life (without success). Well, in similar fashion to Barry, it seems Grant Gustin has found his Iris West. LA Thoma, Gustin’s long-time girlfriend, is his eventual bride-to-be. Thoma’s Instagram who has amassed a considerable following on her Instagram. Thomas works as physical therapist.
Grant proposed to LA after celebrating their one year anniversary, but she though it was a joke.
TThey announced their engagement through Instagram where they posed for a picture together with the wedding ring on full display. People close to them had some big reactions. Although there were outlets that believed Gustin and Thoma secretly eloped during a trip to Malaysia, Gustin denied the claims. The couple plans on getting married sometime next year, as long as Barry doesn’t mess up the timeline again. Many happy wishes to this great couple who seem to get along tremendously.
Outside of Ms. Thoma, Gustin had previously dated Hannah Douglass, a dancer featured on Glee, La-La Land, and multiple other projects involving SPOILERS dancing. He was involved with Douglass for just under two years, from October 2014 to August 2016.
19. Candice Patton: Single
Wait, so if Barry has found his Iris, has Iris found her Barry? It appears not. Despite what many likely expect, Patton is single and has been for many years. While being interviewed back in October of 2015, she discussed her busy shooting schedule and mentioned how difficult it is finding men outside of work. Filming for The Flash seems to dominate much of her days, with little time left to go on a boyfriend hunt. Nevertheless, she’s definitely looking.
Like many of her fellow CW comrades, she’s expertly kept any relationships, budding or existing, completely quiet. No rumblings, no rumors, just a seeming lack of activity. Considering the amount of ongoing projects she has going, it’s easy to see how she wouldn’t have time to date. Nonetheless, with her many great qualities, it’s only a matter of time before the right person comes along and sweeps her off her feet. In the meantime, it seems Patton’s romantic relationships will remain strictly on-screen.
In the meantime, she’ll have plenty to keep herself busy. What if Barry and Iris swap DNA again and she’s got to suit up as a speedster? She can’t have a man holding her back! Take your time Candice. Pick out the right man for you, and see how good things get from there.
18. Danielle Panabaker: Married to Hayes Robbins
Caitlin Snow never really had the best of luck with her love life. Quite frankly, she’s had little luck at all. However, this is not the case with actress Danielle Panabaker, who is happily married to husband Hayes Robbins. Robbins is an entertainment attorney, working out of Beverly Hills. Panabaker and Hayes got engaged in July of 2016, then subsequently exchanged vows approximately 11 months later. They’ve been husband and wife for 10 months now and appear to be going strong.
In terms of previous relationships, she dated reality television producer Charlie Ebersol for three years between 2005 and 2008. Then, she was seen on a date with James Woods, but it appeared that the meeting was a one-time thing. Fun fact, at the time of their date, Panabaker was 20 and James Woods was 61. Oh, the looks they must’ve gotten during that date. Funny enough, just like Katie Cassidy, she too dated Jesse McCartney for a year in 2008, which must’ve been a killer ice breaker when they first met each other. Lastly, she dated Make it or Break it star Zachary Abel for over 5 and a half years from 2010 to 2016. After dating such a variety of different guys, the fact that Robbins is the one and only man she married tells you a lot about just how compatible the two of them must be.
17. Carlos Valdes: Single
Cisco and Iris may not seem like the most compatible pairing in the show, but their real-life counterparts certainly have a lot in common. More specifically, their love lives seem very similar to one another. Both remain largely busy due to their demanding shooting schedules, leaving very little room for any non-work-related activities. Both stars are extremely adept at keeping any of their personal romances completely hidden, with neither having any sort of dating record. Finally, they’re both single, but seem married to their jobs.
When you have as much talent as Carlos, how can you not be focused on your career?
The 29-year-old Valdes’s love life is a giant question mark. No one really has much of an idea who he’s dated, or even if he has any interest in dating at the moment. The young actor’s work ethic is consistently praised, so it’s very possible that he too has no time to pursue any special someones. After all, playing a superhero undoubtedly eats up most of your free time! When he isn’t doing Flash-related activities, he’s busy with musical theater. How well-rounded is Valdes? In the 2013 production of Once, he played Andrej. A role where he sang and played up to five different instruments. In the grand scheme of things, maybe Valdes can hold off on any relationships and continue building on his already very promising career.
16. Keiynan Lonsdale: Single
Although Keiynan Lonsdale was already making waves on The Flash and Legends of Tomorrow, it’s with his recent open, very personal discussions of his true self that he’s made the biggest impact on his fans. The 26-year-old recently came out as bi-sexual in a lengthy Instagram post that talked about accepting yourself and the changes every person goes through as life goes on. It was a powerful statement made by the young actor, and it helped the public understand him more as a person.
With all that said, many are still curious if Lonsdale is dating anyone. After all, these kinds of big announcements are typically followed by a definitive “Yes, we’re dating” social media posts. Yet, there hasn’t been anything of the sort. It seems that the star’s desire to better illustrate his true self to the media is the central focus (alongside his career). His love life remains largely a secret, with a rumored relationship between him and Dance Academy co-star Isabel Durant being the sole rumored romance in recent memory. Alas, it seems that Lonsdale holds all the cards in the eventual reveal of who that special someone is in his life, as it should be. After all, if there’s anything CW stars can clearly do, it’s keep secrets.
15. Caity Lotz: Dating Dylan Lewis
Sara Lance is a pretty big free spirit throughout all of the CW shows. She follows her heart wherever it leads her, whether it’s to Nyssa Al Ghul or to Oliver Queen. Since this easygoing, all-loving personality seems to carry over to actress Caity Lotz’s day-to-day demeanor, many fans wondered if she was a member of the LGBTQ community. While Lotz still hasn’t definitively answered this question, she’s quietly been in a relationship with her boyfriend, Dylan Lewis, for over a year now.
Dylan Lewis, the owner of Blue Cloud Movie Ranch, is known best for his work on Australian TV and radio. It’s unknown how the two met or if they have any plans to expand their current relationship status. But, looking at Lotz’s Instagram account, Lewis’s consistent appearances lets you know how close they both are. Trips around the world or lazy nights in are all documented through Lotz’s social media. Both Lotz and Lewis seem well-suited for one another and seem to be enjoying any free time they get to enjoy together.
So while fans curious about her possible LGBTQ status may not get their answer, but they can appreciate just how much apparent joy and happiness she’s getting from her current relationship.
14. Brandon Routh: Married to Courtney Ford
Brandon Routh and comic book properties seem to go together quite frequently. He’s played Superman, one of Ramona Flowers’ evil exes in Scott Pilgrim Vs. The World, and finally Atom in the CW-verse. Craziest of all is the fact that out of all those roles, his role as Atom is his most long-lasting and memorable. There’s no doubt that Routh likely was disappointed his role as Superman didn’t work out as expected, but one great thing did come from that period of time. Getting married to his wife, Courtney Ford.
There’s always a silver lining. For Routh, he met the love of his life.
Courtney Ford, known best for her role as Portia in True Blood and Lily in Parenthood, met Routh in 2003. Before they knew each other, Ford noticed Routh as he was a bartender at Lucky Strike Lanes in Hollywood. She continually poured out the drinks he served her so that he’d have to keep coming back. They soon hit it off and started dating. Following years of going steady, Routh proposed in 2007 during the Superman Returns press tour, which was followed by the pair’s wedding soon afterwards. In 2012, the happy couple welcomed their first son, Leo.
Nowadays, Routh and Ford are finally working together (or rather, against each other) as Ford plays Damien Dahrk’s villainous daughter in Legends of Tomorrow, opposite her husband and his fellow Legends. Whenever their son eventually watches the show, it’ll be interesting to see which side he roots for.
13. Dominic Purcell: Single
Dominic Purcell, at first glance, looks like the kind of guy who could intimidate you without even looking at you. He’s always playing tough characters in all of his acting projects, so it’s easy to attribute that to the actor himself. And while he could still be that way in real-life, don’t say the man isn’t a romantic. I mean, with two relationships that add up to a total of 17 years of commitment, you’ve got to have more than a few good pick-up lines in order to make that work.
The first major relationship was with Rebecca Williamson, who he dated from 1998 to 2008. Over the course of their marriage, they had four total children: Joseph, Audrey, Lily and Augustus. They both agreed that the break-up was mutual and their relationship is still a positive one. Purcell then moved on to 90210 star AnnaLynne McCord, with whom he had an on again, off again relationship over the course of seven years. Once 2018 hit, it seems that both agreed they’d break up, but do so with good, positive feelings on both sides. If only Heatwave could have that same level of tact and consideration in Legends. Oh well, room to learn, right?
12. Arthur Darvill: Single
The man who helped introduce the crazy, sci-fi world of Legends of Tomorrow, it’s easy to picture Arthur Darvill as being very similar to Rip Hunter. That sense of maturity, sincerity, and a bit of sarcasm stuck with him like it did during his Doctor Who days and many people can easily gravitate to someone with those qualities. However, even though he’s had relationships in the past, it would seem that he’s been single since 2015 (at least going off of what knowledge is available).
Darvill dated British actress Ines De Clercq for a brief, short-lived period of time. Clercq is known best for her role in the 2015 film Cider with Rosie. Then, in 2011, he began a relationship with actress Sophie Wu, although this one was kept more secretive. Press members found them walking around England, showing plenty of affection to one another. However, the details of the relationship are a bit hazy beyond that. Some speculate that the couple broke up a year later, leaving Wu devastated and Darvill less so. Then, there are others who believed they lasted until 2015, before breaking up. Finally, there are the minority who believe they’re both still dating, although this is the unlikeliest option out of them all. The answer isn’t exactly going to unveil itself, but who knows? Maybe Wu and Darvill will walk around England one afternoon, and everyone’s questions will be answered.
11. Maisie-Richardson Sellers: Relationship with Clay
A newer member of the Legends, Vixen is a strong addition to the cast thanks to Maisie-Richardson Sellers and her ability to give the character personality and energy. Sellers has a natural presence to her that gives her place in the group some legitimacy. All of these qualities likely were noticed by the singer Clay, who if Instagram picture consistency is anything to go by (and judging by previous entries on here, it is), may just be Sellers’s girlfriend.
While their relationship may be shrouded in mystery, they look cute together.
Although never explicitly confirmed by either person, Sellers shows up quite often in Clay’s Instagram feed. To add to it, a loving, oftentimes romantic, caption accompanies the loving picture with both of them in it. In addition, they can be seen traveling to many different places together, again accompanied by romantic captions that indicate the deep feelings they have for one another. It’s seems like they already have a deep connection, so it would only make sense that there was a bit of romance and intimacy to it. Now, is dating the only way to intimacy? Not at all. It’s very possible these two are just very close and love spending time with one another. No need to put a label on something when whatever set-up you have at that time is working.
It simply means there’s got to be a “(possibly)” for the headline of this section because it’s no guarantee. But come on, look at them. They’re perfect for each other! You two keep doing you. Best wishes to you and your friendship.
10. Melissa Benoist: Dating Chris Wood
When you play a prominent role in a popular show, it’s sure to have its perks. Melissa Benoist had numerous roles, but once she got a major recurring role on Glee, she became a breakout star and led to numerous other major roles, including the role of Supergirl. One of the other perks that isn’t quite as obvious, but is certainly true for Benoist is how her biggest TV ventures led to multiple significant romantic relationships.
First, prior to Glee and everything else, Benoist was with Nick Vorderman, a photographer who also worked with her earlier on in her career. Following that is the workplace romances, with Blake Jenner (who was on both Glee and Supergirl). He joined Glee right around the time Benoist joined in, and by 2015, the pair had gotten married. It was short-lived though, as Benoist issued divorce papers in 2016 and the divorce was finalized in 2017 . She then proceeded to her current boyfriend, Chris Wood, who plays Mon-El in Supergirl. Wood and Benoist went public with their relationship in March 2017, which is right around the time both their characters in the show become romantically involved (Going to guess this wasn’t a coincidence).
The couple appear to love working together and being around each other for consistent filmings, so it must be like a dream come true for them.
9. Jeremy Jordan: Married to Ashley Spencer
The incredibly talented Jeremy Jordan may be known best for his Broadway roots, but his presence on Supergirl is definitely appreciated. Besides, each of the musical episodes can always use more powerhouse singers (you know, outside of the already great singers). Besides, if he’s ever too busy to do Broadway, he’s always got a bit of musical theatre waiting for him at home.
Ashley Spencer, Jordan’s wife, is also someone who has performed multiple times on many different stages, both on Broadway and off. While discussing how they first met, she mentioned that was auditioning for the musical Rock of Ages and saw a video of Jordan singing online. She immediately messaged him. The two went on a blind date of sorts, and with the help of some liquid courage, both of them bonded right away. Following several years of steady dating, Jordan and Spencer got married in September of 2012.
They both remain consistently active in the theatre, finding an occasional musical to be in every so often in between other shooting schedules. They don’t seem to be planning on extending the family anytime soon, but the option is undoubtedly somewhere in their minds. Hopefully any future children like musicals, or else the family will never be the same.
8. Chyler Leigh: Married to Nathan West
Out of everyone in the entire CW-verse, Chyler Leigh holds the main cast record for the longest relationship. There were some contenders with previous shows, but quite frankly, there’s no topping Leigh’s almost sixteen-year long marriage with husband Nathan West. Leigh and West met each other on the set of 7th Heaven back in 2000, during a time period where much of their gigs together involved them playing a couple. While they were working on Not Another Teen Movie in 2001, West finally proposed to Leigh. As you can probably guess, she said yes.
West doesn’t quite do as much acting, but he can be seen performing more often as he’s both a singer and songwriter. Leigh even joins in on it sometimes too, leading to them calling themselves “WestLeigh.”
They got married the following year and have been happily married since. They have a total of three children but went about naming their kids in an interesting way. Their little wager they’d place whenever Leigh was pregnant required both of them to pick the gender for the baby. Whoever guessed correctly got to name them. West won twice. Their children are Noah, Taelyn, and Anniston. Oh, and if you’d like to see West’s proposal to Leigh, the NATM camera crew was nice enough to film it.
7. Mehcad Brooks: Single
He may be far from the Jimmy Olsen people remember (especially if you grew up watching the Christopher Reeve Superman movies), but Mehcad Brooks offers something different with his version of Jimmy. Unlike Jimmy Olsen, who would probably tattle on you rather than fight you, James Olsen will make you lose your courage if he even flexed in your direction. It’s only fitting that his character’s different because of it. Because of the creative team’s choice to subvert the nerdy character trope, they added a legitimate character instead of someone who may have been more of a punching bag.
Since Brooks is a younger attractive guy in a big-time show. He’s received some attention from other celebs. Actress Serinda Swan and Selita Ebanks took an interest in Brooks. He was with Swan for approximately a year in 2010 before they broke things off. Pretty much immediately after that break-up, he became attached to Ebanks, which was another relatively short-lived relationship. For now, Brooks remains single, but surely someone will catch his eye and get some kind of romance started. In the meantime, Brooks can appreciate the single life and see where life takes them. After all, if we’ve seen anything with much of these other relationships on this list, it’s that they happen by chance. Just have to give it time.
6. David Harewood: Married Kirsty Handy
The last of the Supergirl is Mr. J’onzz himself, David Harewood. Much like other slightly older (it also means more mature, it’s a good thing!) actors on this list, Mr. Harewood finds himself in a committed relationship that he’s been in for several years. His relationship with wife Kirsty Handy has been ongoing for a long time, even before their 2013 marriage. To properly celebrate the marriage, they held it in Barbados so that there’d be plenty of sun and beautiful water as a backdrop for the wedding vows.
Their wedding became more like a vacation as they took their two daughters with them to soak up some sun and relax before getting to the nuptials. Their marriage has been very easygoing and successful, and Harewood credits his family’s understanding and love, as well as his wife’s ability to keep him grounded. Handy and Harewood show the importance of getting to know each other before leaping into too much commitment as they seem to work primarily because they understand each other in-depth and know how to work with one another. Keep doing your thing J’onn J’onzz, show them how it’s done!
5. China McClain: Single
Similarly to Danielle Panabaker, China McClain got her start on the Disney Channel. Getting her main break on House of Payne and Disney’s A.N.T Farm, she began doing plenty of work for Disney before getting called for Black Lightning. Since McClain’s on the younger side, she doesn’t exactly have an extensive dating history. However, during her time on A.N.T Farm, she did date her co-star Jake Short for a short time period in 2013. While there are no guarantees that co-star romances will work too often (especially at a young age), it’s likely all too easy to let it happen. Especially when you’re shooting episode after episode together. Once the show ended though, their relationship also met its end. They both remain good friends though.
McClain is still young, there’s no need for her to rush into a relationship.
As McClain continues to get work, she’ll likely continue developing as an actress and possibly expand her dating list. Hey, it’s bound to happen, so as long as she makes smart decisions on which people she takes a chance on, she shouldn’t get burned too often. Relationships are dangerous and unpredictable, best to play it safe, especially when you’re younger. Oh, and be sure to follow the path of the good Disney stars. It’s not always an easy road for everyone, best to play it safe.
4. Nafessa Williams: Single
Even though Nafessa Williams is new to the CW-verse, it’s clear she learned the rule on relationships, particularly when you’re single: keep it a secret. Fans and media love to know everything they can about celebrities, particularly with up-and-comers like Williams. Since she’s given great performances in Black Lightning, Twin Peaks, and Tales (and that was just in 2017!), her future is looking bright. In turn, the media wants to know all the little details about her life, including the romantic ones.
Unfortunately for them, Williams either isn’t a big sharer of her romantic misadventures or she’s not openly trying to date. The actress shared a video on Instagram almost a year ago where she’s dancing with a man. The two seem close, and if the Hashtag #WhiteChocolate at the bottom is anything to go by, there are some feelings there. However, there’s nothing else to go off of, so unless Williams feels like sharing, looks like her secrets will remain exactly that until she decides otherwise.
Will the media still ask whenever they get a chance? Of course! It’s their job to convince celebs to answer the ambiguities of their personal lives for exclusives. Yet, if Williams just doesn’t feel up to sharing until a later date, then it looks like she’ll be the one with the updates. Since we’re talking about a rising star like Williams, expect someone to come along that just may convince her to stop keeping quite as many secrets.
3. Damon Gupton: In a Relationship with a Mystery Woman
Now, I’m not saying that Damon Gupton (Inspector Henderson) is adopting the “I totally have a girlfriend, she just lives in Canada and you’ll never meet her” lie from middle school, but it does somewhat feel like he is. Answering fan questions is always a slippery slope, mainly because fans like to pry and get the really interesting details, and Gupton likely learned that when he responded to someone regarding his anonymous girlfriend. When a fan asked Gupton if he loved France, he responded by saying that both he and his girlfriend like France very much.
The mention of the girlfriend was completely unprompted, and he just may have let it slip by accident. It’s probable that he and his girlfriend don’t want to go public yet, but at the moment, it’s hard to believe the relationship’s legitimacy. Again, it reeks too much of the classic middle “totally have a girlfriend” lie. Whenever he inevitably feels like sharing, he’ll prove that she does in fact exist. After all, he did mention how much he loves his girlfriend in a Tweet from 2014, but no guarantees it’s the same person. Oh well, in the meantime, we (or maybe just me by myself) can picture Gupton rubbing his hands together and thinking to himself “Haha they bought it.”
2. Cress Williams: Married to Kristen Torrianni
Although Black Lightning is forced to make many different tough choices that push him further away from his family, Cress Williams has the luxury of not having to save people every other night. In turn, he gets to be married and have children with the love of his life with little conflicts overall. Sure, it would probably make a boring show, but it’s got to be a satisfying life to live. Sure, this wasn’t Williams’ first marriage, as he was previously married to actress/singer Simba Khali for a year. It was with Khali that Williams got his first two children: Amika and Elijah. Even though the marriage didn’t last long, the couple parted on positive terms.
While his relationship with Khali didnt last, Williams found the love of his life in the end.
However, it was Torianni that Williams was meant to be with. They had been dating for over six years prior to their eventual wedding, allowing a strong amount of time to get to know each other properly, as well as allow the kids to adapt to the situation of another mother figure entering the picture. Cress Williams (Black Lightning himself) married Kristen Torrianni back in 2013 in a Texas church alongside their fellow Hart of Dixie co-stars. Williams, along with co-star Scott Porter, took it upon themselves to pick up some mics and sing the song “End of the Road” by Boyz II Men. It may have been the end of the road for his life as a bachelor, but Williams likely is already feeling the thrills that come with having a complete family.
1. Christine Adams: Married to David Young
Lastly, there’s the matriarch of the Pierce family, played by Christine Adams. Adams, much like many others on this list is in a committed relationship with her husband, David Young. The twist is that unlike many of the other examples, where the partner/spouse is still out in public with the cast member, Young is largely kept away from the paparazzi. The couple’s daughter is also hidden from the spotlight as Adams does not wish to see the media get near her family and disrupt their day-to-day.
Adams shares very little about her personal life, likely because she’s been around the industry long enough to know the importance and preciousness of privacy when you can have it. It may not be something she can exactly avoid, but she can ensure her husband and daughter don’t have to deal with the ever-watchful eye of the media. When it comes to her and the Adams/Young family, she simply wishes to reassure everyone that their daughter is being raised properly and that both of them are working their hardest so that they can have the best upbringing possible. All in all, is there anything else that needs to be heard? Let them live their lives in peace, then unveil themselves to the media when they want to be. A bold, but surely-appreciated way of dealing with the media.
